Foodie spot in Frankfurt - review of Chairs

I was excited to have dinner at Chairs - a foodie-esque restaurant in Frankfurt since I had heard the food scene there is lacking.

Restaurant is in Nordend-Ost area near Gunthersburgpark.

Chairs reminded me a bit of NYC and San Fran styles because the chef maintains a basic menu with a few apps, salads and entrees; but it’s supplemented with daily/weekly specials. Chairs doesn't claim to focus on service (even says so on its website), but I found service to be normal.

LOVED the steak and potatoes entree. Perfectly seasoned and cooked. (My dinner mate had gotten this previously and she said it was just as delicious both times.) The other dishes we got were daily specials. Very tasty parsnip-chestnut-truffle soup. Scallops were good. The fish entree special was a bit of a miss - seemed like the chef was trying too hard to be innovative by using popcorn.

It was 85 euros for 3-courses for 2 people plus a drink each. I thought the food quality was definitely worth it, and I will go back the next time I'm in town.

Make sure to get a reservation though. I saw them turn people away at the door several times.
