A Week in the Vaucluse
Please, folks....I need lunch recommendations for the Vaucluse, including Avignon and Arles. Interested in hill towns like Bonnieux, Rousillon, Fountain de Vaucluse, etc.
There are already several threads about this area, but I'll start you off:
l'Atelier Jean-Luc Rabanel (Arles)
le Fournil (Bonnieux)
la Flambée (Bonnieux) - have Provençal pizza on the terrace upstairs, weather permitting
la Bastide de Capelongue (Bonnieux)
la Ferme de la Huppe (Gordes)
l'Auberge des Carrières (les Taillades)
l'Ane sur le Toit (Mérindol)
le Restaurant du Lac (la Motte d'Aigues)
I would not suggest finding food in Fountain de Vaucluse. It's a lovely spot up near the waterfall, but it's become very, very touristy and so changed from my first trip there years ago.
I'd also add:
L'Essential in Avignon
L'Oustalet in Gigondas
L'Aile ou la Cuisse in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence
Dolium Restaurant outside Beaumes-de-Venise
Vast area-- big department, #84!!
By town, I love Lourmarin, my favorites there is Le Recre, and L'Antiquaire.
