Waco is pretty much a food disaster.

There are a few good places though...Buzzard Billy's.

    Good for Cajun.

Try Health Burger. They're the furthest thing from what their name suggests, and they are great.

The highlights of Waco are few, but the Dr. Pepper Museum is a hoot! It's not a restaurant, but it's goofy fun. They have a soda fountain where they hand-mix Dr. Peppers like in the old days.

Health Camp is a burger joint--great name, but I've never been. There's also the Elite Cafe, been there once, the Chicken Fried Steak was okay, not great.

A couple of Mexican restaurants are decent. Overall, Waco is kinda blah for chowhounds in my experience.

The local treat is a kolachy (I think the spelling is correct), a sweet, fruit filled baked thing. The nearby town West is the home of these.
