Diabetic Artificial Sweetener 4 Pesach & Recipes? Please help!

  • 6

My father is a Diabetic - Type 2.

Where can I find a Kosher for Passover Artificial Sweetener that is sold in a *normal size bag* instead of individual packets?

The only Kosher L'Pesach artificial sweeteners I have seen have strictly been in the kosher stores, and are ONLY sold in individual packets (ex: Sweet N Low & Lieber's Sweetees). Since I saw the Sweet N Low @ the Kosher store was marked "Kosher for Passover," but only sold in individual packets, I passed on buying it and I decided to go to the *regular market to pick it up since I needed a LARGE size for baking --- sadly, I discovered that at the grocery store, Sweet N Low was NOT marked Kosher for Passover...so, I came home empty handed...and it was TOO late to go back to the kosher store since it was Erev Pesach. So frustrating!

If you click on Rabbi Eidlitz's Pesach Guide
http://printingcontrol.net/flipbook/p...
and scroll to page 20 where it lists SWEETENER - all it says is "Syncal Saccharin"....I couldn't find this active ingredient anywhere....

Also, when I finally locate this product, hopefully, with YOUR help ;-) - what Diabetic Pesach recipes do you recommend?? I would be so grateful for any advice as I want my father to be able to enjoy Pesach and not feel deprived!

With many thanks! And Chag Sameach! :)

Thank you for the links - I didn't realize how expensive this stuff is to buy in a large quantity! Sheesh! LOL :)

    2. Pudding, sorbet, cheesecake, baked apples, though they really don't require sweetener.

I was able to find Lieber's Sweetee in a canister, but I'm in LA and not sure if itscavailable all over. Though if we have it here, ut must be elsewhere, too.

      Good luck!

Thank you for the recommendations on what I can make for him! :) I am also in LA, could you please tell me where you found the canister?

Western Kosher. No idea what I paid. I just closed my eyes! :)

Thank you Miri1, I will be sure to keep Western Kosher in mind! I appreciate the local lead! :) (Sorry for the delay, I didn't see your response until now!)
