Dungeness Crab in Sausalito or Tiburon / Breakfast substitute for Canteen?

Emma88 Mar 30, 2013 07:54 PM

1. We'll be in SF next week and will be meeting friends in Marin Saturday night for dinner. I'd love some cracked Dungeness Crab with drawn butter, but can't seem to find anything in that area online. Suggestions?
2. We're staying at the Carlton on Sutter Street (cross street Larkin) and used to go to Canteen for awesome Eggs Benny and the French Toast. I heard they're not open for breakfast any more. Any suggestions where else to go in walking distance?

    Thank you all!
Looks like we won't be going to Marin, but staying in SF, so we'll try something in town with nice ambience (not uncomfortable seating like Swans). Any suggestions?

Scoma's in San Francisco should have the crab...

Woodhouse Fish Co. does simple half or whole crab with melted butter. Some other recommendations:

        The Trident

Lots of crab options on the menu.

For your crab question: what about Fish in Sausalito? Super casual and delicious. If it's nice, you can sit outside. I would call ahead to see what they crab situation is.

Scoma's in Sausalito should have the crab, but call first --

I never thought the Canteen breakfasts were particularly upscale, so with that in mind, Dottie's new location isn't getting as much attention, but that might work for you. Brenda's isn't mind blowing, and it's not the nicest scenery for a stroll, but it's fairly close to Canteen.
