Relish Burger Bistro @ The Phonecian

Really enjoyed this place.

Decent, but not great burger. Had the Classic Burger, and although it was cooked perfectly (rare/med-rare), it was pretty much tasteless. It's one those burger places (like so many others) that depend on all the fixins (e.g. cheese, peppers, sauces, etc.) to make their burgers tasty. Oh well.

But the tater tots rocked. And I mean they really rocked.

As did the Spiked Vanilla milkshake.

  1. I haven't been, but I've tasted their food at Devoured the last two years. I was pretty impressed with their offerings. I'll have to give it a try on their tots alone!

Do you have a favorite burger place in Phoenix? At the moment, no one has impressed our burger search more than Zinburger.

      For dinner: Welcome Diner

For lunch: Delux (although I haven't been since they've put in a sushi bar ... which really really troubles me, may have to find a new place.)

I'll have to give Welcome Diner a try. Thanks!

    2. I actually really liked the burger at Relish, but maybe it was a combination of the toppings. I did a burger crawl and ranked my Phoenix favorites here: http://forkvsfood.com/best-burger-rev...

Nice review. Have you tried Welcome Diner?

Thanks! I haven't. I have about 15 more places on my list for my next go, and that's one of them!

From your blog post it appears you favor burgers with lots of fixins and accoutrements.

If so, then WD may not be up your alley.

I'm more of a purist I suppose. What I want in a good burger is quality meat, properly cut and handled, and gently formed patties. Everything is really superfluous, save a good bun like brioche.

      2. Is this place new...haven't stayed at the Phoenician in a couple of years but wondering if this is where the upstairs bar is with the wrap around terrace?

        Tater tots..Mama like..lots!
Ipsy, you staying in one of those swanky villas..
The J&G burger with beer special kicks serious ass..

          No, not new.

Been there for quite a while (at least a couple of years if I'm not mistaken). It's in that lounge area, where you feel like you're in someone's "man cave" with views of the golfcourse.

I think the bar upstairs you're thinking of is the Thirsty Camel?

"Relish" is where "Windows on the Green" used to be, upstairs of the golf pro shop and across from the Spa. "J&G" is on the 5th floor of the main building in the space that used to be "Mary Elaine's".
