Iranian Food In Halifax - Pars Restaurant
We were stuck for a restaurant last Thursday and found ourselves at Pars Restaurant on the north end of Robie Street in Halifax. What a find!
Great olive and walnut appetizer along with a unique hummus quite unlike any other we have tsted. Freshly baked barbari bread to go with it and we ordered more. The chef is very particular about his bread and cannot be corerced to make more than he requires.for the restaurant's usage. We had wanted to get some to take home.
We had 4 different main courses, all were very good but the Chicken with Pomegranata Molasses was outstanding.
Service is excellent and friendly, the place is spotless. Prices were extremely reasonable. Two thumbs up for this one.

Pars Restaurant is now closed unfortunately. I enjoyed their hummus, stews, and especially their plain rice which was perfectly cooked every time.
I wish people wouldn't leave reviews like the one Sandy W. left here: http://www.yelp.ca/biz/pars-restauran.... It just seems mean spirited and reckless. Affordable ethnic restaurants are exactly what Halifax needs and one or two 'AWFUL!!!!' reviews are enough to kill a new restaurant struggling to get off the ground.
Their website says they will be back by April - hopefully in a location that is a bit more central.
Sorry to hear this. I suppose as you say if it had been closer to downtown it would have flown. Could be a hit with students too.
