Looking for Russian style Kielbasa
I need a Russian style Kielbasa to complete my Easter dinner. Does anyone know where I can buy some? I'm talking about a fresh, NOT smoked, coarsely ground sausage in a natural casing. With plenty of garlic.
There must be some place I can buy some. Preferably Berks County, but I'm willing to drive if I have to.
I lived in Russia for several years and have been visiting the country more or less annually since 1988, and I've never had sausage there like the one you're describing. There is plenty of smoked, dry sausage in Russia (kolbasa), but fresh and full of garlic is not something I ever saw there.
Czerw's makes fresh sausage as well as smoked, so if I were you I'd try there. The problem with that is that they are probably long since sold out for Easter.
