Palette Dining Studio at MGM and Assembly Line Buffet at Motor City

Has anyone here dined at either one? I thought it might be interesting to give one of the casino buffets a shot in the near future, and these two seem to be the main players. I realize this is Detroit, and I am not expecting Vegas quality spreads or five star dining, but I would like to know if anyone here has some personal experiences they could share. Any thoughts or feedback on which is better, the types of food served at each, and so on would be very helpful.

  1. I've only eaten at the MGM buffet, have never been to MotorCity. The Ms. and I were quite impressed -- the quality of the food was excellent and they had a broad selection that was more than just basic buffet food. They have a seafood section, Asian food, meat and comfort food, salads and soups, and sweets. It's not cheap, but I think we got our money's worth.

Much obliged. Knowing little about either one, I was leaning towards MGM simply because I have had one experience with their Vegas buffet. Obviously this is Detroit, so I've lowered the bar a fair margin in my mind, but it's great to have a recommendation. Anyone able to comment on MotorCity?
