try the Thai Kitchen on McCarthy Rd in san Antonio, not far from the airport.... the Spicy fish is a wok-fried fresh flounder in a rice wine vinegar and green chiles sauce...best with fried rice or curried vegetables... when I'm traveling for a week or two, sometimes I make a beeline straight from the airport to the Thai Kitchen for a welcome home meal that has my mouth salivating before I can get off the plane.
Tell Sam the owner "Hi." Bon Apetit!

The best Thai food in Houston is NitNoi. They have spring rolls so good there, I have friends who willingly Fed-Ex them to me when the craving is too intense. The spicy cucumber sauce for dipping is good enough to eat alone.

I'm no Thai expert by any means, but my two experiences at Thai Kitchen were pretty sad. For my money, NIT NOI in Houston (New glamorous digs just down the strip-mall, same low prices) is the place. Everything I've ever had there has just been an explosion of freshness and amazing flavor. I seriously reccomend it.

I know Nit Noi and The Golden Room, not Patu. Always wanted to know the name of this other Thai place that's much more down to earth then Nit Noi and The Golden Room. It's near the U of Houston(University Park location/Cullen, Calhoun) at one of the more sparse neighborhood. The chef there was uncompromising. He thought that if you ordered green curry "mild", you were asking for the impossible. How I miss that place now that I'm in NYC....

Does anyone know this place? Does it still exist?
