Duck fat

Does anyone know where one could purchase duck fat in Honolulu? Have seen several recipes lately that call for it and want to try them. Seems to be hard to even find frozen duck to try to render my own.

  1. I have seen frozen ducks at Y. Hata's retail store. Unless Whole Foods carries it, I'm guessing duck fat probably won't be easy to find.

Thanks for the suggestions. Found it at Whole Foods which has 8 oz containers for $10. Tried the sweet-potato fries from the Sunday NYT magazine article, and they turned out wonderfully. Yum!

Great news. I was going to recommend that you contact Wo Fat, as his Vietnamese B-I-L is Duk Fat... [Grin]

        Mahalo for posting your source.

    2. Gourmet Wholesale should have it. 808 841 8071 (7 1/2 lb tub)

      1. I think Pacific Mkt. has frozen ducks.

        1. I would also recommend Hank of Hank's Haute Dogs. He has duck fat fries (so good). You could inquire about his source.
