I know it's bad for you but it can be so good for you to. Especially with great sides. Comfort with a capital "C"! Looking for recommendations please.

My previous inquiry on the same topic here: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/873129

Sounds like you might want to check out Sister Pee Wee.

Hounds give lots of love to Sundays at Cowboy Star.
Don't know if its back on the rotation.

And C Star is pretty respectable, especially for San Diego.

Just had the fried chicken at Sessions Public a couple of weeks ago and loved, loved, loved it! Perfectly crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside. I got a kick out of the fact it was served with watermelon. On a side note, the pork chop they served that night was spot on also!

+1 on Sessions Public. We love the Chicken Bitties!

Was the chicken on the regular menu...or a specific night?

The Chicken Bitties are listed as an appetizer and are also on the kids menu. Not sure if they have an entree sized portion. They also use Mary's Chicken: good stuff!
sdnosh - did you have an entree or the app?

The Fried Chicken was an entree served with the aforementioned watermelon, mac n' cheese, and a spicy dipping sauce. I don't recall seeing chicken in the app section. I went on a Friday but don't go often enough to know how regular it is or isn't. But when I mentioned to the waitress how much we enjoyed it, she said the chef was from the south!

Tiger!Tiger! also serves a fried chick, but I think it's only on Sunday brunch

My house is the best. Kidding. I only make it a couple of times a year.

Monday night at Amaya La Jolla - have not tried yet
Tuesday night at WhiskNLadle - ok
Wednesday night at Beaumont's - have yet to try, but looking forward to it with the new Chef.

I forget what night the FC special occurs:
Jayne's Gastropub - it has been about a year since we sampled it, but nothing special.
The Linkery: Ditto on the timeline. Nice chicken, but I'm not a fan of sweet (maple) with savory (spicy) fried chicken.

Had a great fried quail appetizer at Amaya La Jolla tonight that came with a small side of smoked mac 'n cheese (orzo). Tasty!

Not straight up "Fried Chicken" but "TBG" That Boy Good BBQ in Oceanside. does a mean fried chicken sandwich as well as chicken and waffles. It's a breaded chicken thigh, de-boned, pounded out and breaded with the chef's mothers recipe.
