Boar's Head Turkey

jhopp217 Mar 27, 2013 09:03 AM

Went to a deli the other day and ordered a Turkey sandwich. Haven't eaten cold cuts in a long time, but was starving. Ordered the Boar's Head Ovengold Turkey. I've never been a huge fan of Boar's Head, but when did the meat get so salty. I basically needed a 16oz drink just to get the salt taste out of my mouth. Maybe I'm just not used to it, but this was borderline inedible.

Processed meats, not healthy at all. This product has 480 mg per 2 oz serving, so if your sandwich had 4 oz you consumed 960 mg of sodium.

They now have a line of lower sodium meats available at the deli in grocery stores that carry their products.
