I have never done this before but was interested in having a cook prepare dinner for six people. Anyone done this and can recommend someone? Know how much it would cost?

kitchensurfing.com recently started operation in Boston, and is set up to hook people up with chefs for just this sort of occasion. Won't be much in the way of reviews given that it is just starting, but the concept seems to be working in New York.

A little less expensive idea is to call one of the local culinary schools and ask if there is any "senior" students that maybe interested in doing this.

Robert Harris from Season to Taste is awesome. He has his own company now, but I wonder if he can be hired for personal cheffery as well.
