So, who else has noticed a jump in the prices of greens?

My favorite iceberg lettuce has tripled in price here in Chicago. And I picked up some today that, while good in quality, I think must have been picked before fully grown. It wasn't solid, if you understand that. It was lightweight like bibb or leaf lettuce. Only yielded enough for one big salad, when normally I can get three!

    When the price gets crazy, I stop buying and use other ingredients, the same goes for tomatoes.

      Me. I paid $3.99 for a small bunch of cavolo nero at the Fairway the other day - ridiculous. It wasn't even organic.

        Since greens freshness goes quick, I've found that during these high price periods checking out the end of the day bins at markets reaps great value.

          I live in the suburbs of NYC and saw zucchini fir $3.49 a pound last week. It wasn't even organic.
