Visiting SF in a few wks (Interconnental Mark Hopkins Hotel area)

and looking for the best casual, mom and pop, Italian, Chinese, Thai, Ethiopean, Indian, restaurants. Are any of the DDDives featured locations worthy of a visit and possibly nearby? Thanx in adv!!

    The Tenderloin neighborhood, down the hill to the southwest, has some of the best cheap and casual Thai, Pakistani, and Vietnamese places in SF.

      It would be worth your while to go to the upper right-hand corner of this page and do a search for "Nob Hill." You will find a number of recent threads with suggestions for dining in that area. Here is one:

      The reality is you can get to just about anywhere in the city for your hotel.

        But if you are walking, most of them will be a climb back to your hotel.

          The California Street cable car has that uphill stuff covered.
