Pre-rock show dinner near BB King's?

  • 6

A friend is treating me with a ticket to the Moving Sidewalks [ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons' first band] at BB King's this Saturday; l'm returning the favor by treating dinner. Anything good and moderately-priced in that area? Going to 9th Ave wouldn't be a problem.

  1. What's moderately priced to you? $40pp before tax/tip/wine/drinks?

What time did you want to eat? I are that doors are at 7, but the show is at 8, do you have a standing room only ticket? Or reserved seats?

l'm pretty sure we've got reserved seats; moderate to me [as l am a cheapskate] is getting out at $125 or below incl. t/t, with perhaps one drink each. Doors are at 7, showtime at 8.

    2. I suggest heading to a different neighborhood. For example, you could eat at one of the restaurants at the Ace Hotel (John Dory Oyster Bar, The Breslin), and then take a 5-minute cab ride to the theater. Or go to the tap room at Keen's (your budget won't work in Keen's dining room, but it should in the more casual tap room).

l was thinking about bypassing the immediate neighborhood, and was considering the Breslin [that lamb burger and thrice etc. is SO good!]; it's now definitely at the top of the list.

      2. I'm going to the same show with 5 friends. We decided on St. Andrews for a 5:30 dinner.

BB Kings is usually all seats, but for this show it is supposedly general admission standing unless your friend shelled our beaucoup bucks for the VIP tix.
