French Macaron Flavor Suggestions
I'm planning on making an assortment of macarons for Easter - pistachio, cherry, chocolate/orange, & earl gray, and looking for one more flavor, that is maybe a bit different than the old standby and nice for Spring. Any suggestions? Considering blood orange or meyer lemon if I can find them, but hoping for something a bit more interesting.
I really like salted caramel but that's fairly standard.
Gooseberry and elderflower.
Lime and basil.
Sounds boring but a plain vanilla would be nice balance with the other flavours.
If you don't mind another chocolate one passion fruit with chocolate is a killer combination.
Jasmine is nice and spring-like flavour too.
Rose buttercream is one of my favorite fillings for roses. Rosewater can also be added to the shell if you want a stronger flavor.
