Horchata

Again, me from Tucson. My children love Horchata, which is served at almost every restaurant here. I have tried making countless versions and have FAILED epically every time. Any foolproof horchata recipes out there?

Thanks. I didn't realize that david L had a recipe for it. I will definitely try his version, as his recipes are always spot on.--although I see that isn't originally his recipe. My real problem every time has been texture. too chalky.

Sounds like straining is your issue.

Please report back. horchata is the thing I miss most about my recent trip to Tucson.

            Um, other than the SUN

        2. I found an earlier thread on it with some tips that might help - sorry not to add anything original but I just have no experience with this. Here's the link to the thread http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/648561
