Stopping for the night in Florence SC on our way to Charleston...what's chow worthy?

      I hope it is still open, but unfortunately, the owner and only cook died this past Christmas. Probably would be best for the OP to call first and see if they are still open.

      There are two tasty spots just a bit east of the I-95 and I-20 interchange - RedBone Alley and StarFire Grill. RedBone Alley has a cool courtyard-ish atmosphere and great shrimp and grits. Their grilled poundcake panini is covered in bananas and ice cream - a favorite recipe passed down by the owner's mother-in-law. StarFire is traditonal / greek mixed menu. The souvlaki is just right.
