My husband and I (both 31) will be staying at the Inn at Palmetto Bluff in late May for a few nights. We are not familiar with any of the restaurants at the resort or in the area. Any recommendations if we should have dinner at the resort or somewhere off the property? Thanks for any advice!

The River House at the Inn is very good. If you want to eat off campus Pour Richards in Bluffton is outstanding.

If you are willing to drive to Hilton Head, I would strongly recommend both Ombra and Vine (in that order).

If I had one meal in Bluffton, I agree, the River House. I would choose the May River Grill as my second choice. Pour Richards would be a distant third.

Thanks so much! I think we'll plan to eat at River House one night and Vine the next. Thanks for the suggestions!

Neo is fairly new and is a great choice.

Bluffon Family Seafood is great for locally-caught (many times from their own boats) seafood. Cahill's has excellent country-style Southern entrees and farm-fresh veggies from their own fields.

A little further afield: Griffin Market in downtown Beaufort. IMO, the best Italian in SC. Small, serious and dedicated. The owner has a million dollar wine collection in the side room. Spectacular.
