Daily Log-in?

  • 9

For the second consecutive day I've had to log in to Chowhound. I have the "remember me" box checked.

I'm using Safari on a mac book.

Is anyone else having this issue?

  1. I'm using Safari and have had log in issues and once logged in when I go to my discussions, log on to a discussion then go back old threads appear to to have new content but don't. I have to keep refreshing my profile to see what's unread

    1. Clear Cookies/Data in Safari. All seems to work okay now, as far as I can tell at the moment.

Clearing cookies helped but after returning to CH the problem returned. I hope I don't have to clear cookies and data every time I visit CH

      2. Intermittantly I do. I have IE. Won't happen for awhile and then a bunch of times in a row.

        1. This happens to me every few days on Firefox with Windows 7. I've yet to be given a fix that works for very long.

With the way computers update things automatically, and frequently, I've got to think that's the issue .......maybe? What I don't understand is why it happens on Chow, but doesn't seem to happen on a couple of dozen other sites I frequent.

          1. Just had to log in again, even though I'd been to the site less than an hour ago. I've asked why this happens before, but don't recall ever getting a useful answer from admin or tech.

Is it just stuff that happens? Why here and not on other sites?

            Just askin'.

              Hi Midlife.

We've had other reports of this but have never been able to reproduce it so we're a little stymied as to why it happens, why it's intermittent, and why it affects some users and not others. We'll continue to monitor it though.

Thanks for the reply. FYI- I'm on Firefox 99% of the time. I just had a situation yesterday where I had to use IE to download something to upgrade the firmware in my wife's Garmin............ because Firefox wouldn't let it happen. So............ it could be browser specific.
