Looking for local gems along 880

Looking for local gems for a late Saturday dinner (10-11PM) along 880 from Oakland to San Jose. I don't get out that way very often so something that can't be easily beat in SF, the north bay or the peninsula would be preferred. Cheap is also good, but would be willing to spend up to $40pp out the door.

  1. Tacos el Gordo across from the Burger King on International near High Street. The Al Pastor tacos in my opinion are the best in the Bay Area. They are open late(my favorite stop after Warriors games).

In Fremont there is a whole bunch of good afgani restaurants but none of them are open too late.

Thanks for the rec. I agree, it was the best al pastor taco I have had to date. The oil blanched tortillas were a tad greasy, but the added texture and flavor made it worth it. On the downside the wait was nearly on hour - from a taco truck! Popular place for sure, but dang! Folks waiting did say it was an unusually long wait though.

I am usually hesitant to order the al pastor because San Jose Taquaria is always mentioned as the best in SF and I find the flavor from the orange oily meat off-putting.
