FIESTA'S MEXICAN GRILL, 91-1001 Kaimalie St. #105-A, Ewa Beach, HI 96706

  • 6

Got the Fiesta's Trio ($15.50). The tamal was good, a little dry, but meaty, though, in general, the food was under-spiced. I had to look at the menu to remember that the Green Enchilada was filled with chicken and cream cheese. The Chile Relleno was a small, presumably fresh, Poblano pepper filled with Mexican cheese. Unfortunately, the breading did not adhere well to the pepper, which was covered with a sauce of chopped onions and whole canned tomatoes. Overall, another heartbreaker of a meal, though I might go back for the Fish Tacos or the Pollo en Mole.

  1. bummer. thanks for the report!

    1. so sad.

a friend took me to Los Chapporos last week. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't good. Guess I'll stick with Azteca for now although it looks like I have to give Taco Kabana on Kapiolani a try.

Yet another quest for good Mexican food... I do miss Mama's kitchen that was on North School Street/Aala many many years ago. The best spicy burrito I have ever eaten in Hawaii; none matches so far.

my apt is right near that intersection... maybe it's a good thing mama's is no longer there.

Well, the rice was light and fluffy, but under-seasoned, as above.

azteca keeps jacking up the prices. my last dining in visit several years ago had a friend being scolded by the abuela for requesting more chips! the entree portions are so small.

i really wish a good place would open in the spot where quinteros used to be. i totally disliked them, but the location has remained empty for years and i crave good mex food whenever i drive by. plus the building is already a nice shade of lavender.
