No notifications?

Has anyone stopped getting email notifications today?

    1. Notifications are working again, so you should be receiving them in your email now. Let us know if you encounter any further problems with them.

          How do I STOP notifications and where in the world is it located. I tried Settings, My account, and just can't find it. I don't want to receive emails endlessly once a question has been answered and cannot find where to turn off notifications

            Go to Profile –> Settings –> Chowhound

            And don't ask me why things are organized this way. It makes no sense to me.

        2. Just a FYI, I checked the "junk" email I use for all my social networking sites and it seems there aren't any Chow notifications since last Friday June 14th? I didn't change any of my settings.

            Hrmm. I got some this morning, so it's not a general problem.

              Hi jrvedivici. I can't find any reason that just your notifications would've stopped. Are you still not receiving any?

                Correct, as of 10:58pm est no new notifications of thread comments. I did however get an email from the Mods instructing me of the removal of one of my posts. Lol

                  Since Monday, I have received a total of 5 notifications. While there have been dozens of responses on threads I'm involved with.

                  FYI I'm not really complaining.....just providing info.

                        DeborahL.......I sincerely apologize to you however in my defense my mother did drop me on the head as a child!

                        I use a "junk" email for all my "social media" so I really don't pay too much attention to it. It does seem however that they must have "tweaked" their format. It seems my notifications have been sent directly into my spam folder instead of my inbox.

                        I have been receiving notifications, I assume this entire time, it just seems certain days they evade my spam folder and go directly into my in-box. This explains why I've been so "spotty" on receiving notifications.

                        I'm sooooooooo sorry if I caused you an extra work.

                          Ha, thanks for the update jrvedivici, no apology necessary. Thanks for reporting back because this info might help others whose "social media" content is eluding them, especially with Gmail's new tabbed inbox.

                            Don't get me started on the new gmail....uggghhhhhh.

                            My social media dump email is actually a yahoo account, I don't know what they changed but apparently their spam filter(s) have changed. Everything use to just come straight into my inbox, now it's all flagged as spam. Just FYI.

                I am still no longer receiving notifications. One of the last times this happened, DeborahL was kind enough to look into the issue and she said something along the lines of the notifications were "hung-up" in your third party e-mail system.

                Maybe that would be a place to start looking this time? Or maybe looking to see if the messages even made it to an output queue?

                  Fowler, your email address did get bounced at some point for some reason. I've cleared at from the queue so hopefully your notifications will begin arriving soon.

                        As of today it is a problem once again and I am no longer receiving notifications. Nothing has changed on my end.

                              It looks like the last one I got was about 15 hours ago and there should have been several since then. This isn't something that's likely to be fixable on a weekend, but I'll let the Engineering team know.

                                  Just a FYI it's been hit or miss for me for a month or two now. I will go day's without them, then they will kick in and I get them. Like I said it's been that way a while now. I for one could care less just sharing for what it's worth.

                                          Received them yesterday, nothing today. (But honestly if it takes any effort to try and fix them for me individually don't waste your time, I'm just too lazy to change my settings. It's ok if it stay's "broken" for me)
