Dunkin' Donuts' "Spring Flavors"?!

Michelly Mar 21, 2013 08:10 AM

Dunkin' Donuts just came out with their new "Spring Flavored Coffees":
coconut, strawberry shortcake, and triple berry. >{

Obviously not thought up by someone who loves coffee.

This tiny roastery in Lewes DE makes flavored coffees that are really good. Just not something a behemoth like DD should be doing.

This guy also knows how to do it. He used to have a roastery in Rehoboth Beach, DE, then -- from what we heard -- lost it in a bitter (pun intended) divorce. Now he appears to be back with a new wife in Arlington VA!

These sound just absolutely horrible. A better idea would be a Spring Coffee that would be a normal cup of black coffee served with a small cookie -- either coconut, strawberry shortcake or triple berry.

I once tried a Blueberry iced coffee at DD in RI.

One of the worst things I have ever tasted in my life.

Reminds me of the Denis Leary bit about DD. Google it sometimes. pretty funny ..and spot on.

It seems like Dunkin Donuts is trying to distance itself from donuts.

Unrelated to their coffee, their new Irish Cream Coffee donut is to be avoided. I don't know a single person who's tried it and enjoyed it at all.

I love berries AND love coffee... and my nickname is 'strawberry shortcake'... so last year I bought the strawberry shortcake flavor. I used it once and the bag is probably still sitting in the back of a cabinet to this day, because it was HORRIBLE.

I thought you were talking about donuts.

                  Silly me.

They've had coconut flavor for A while now. The coconut iced coffee is pretty good.

I saw these at a Target store, and before I realized it was flavored coffee, said to Mr. Pine: "oh, look, Dunkin' Donuts does kids drinks now." Maybe I was being prophetic?

                        Sounds too sweet!

Are they sweetened or is it just the flavoring? I don't mind the occasional coconut-flavored coffee, as long as it is unsweetened.

I admit (with no shame) to liking flavored coffees in some of the usual flavors - vanilla and hazelnut. Like that.

I once tried a blueberry coffee (Seattle's Best) and it was, well, awful.

These flavors don't sound so great, either.

ugh! I love DD but the regular old kind. Never been a fan of flavored but those sound grosser than usual.

I won't do the berries - but I do like Coconut flavored coffee as an iced coffee. Green Mountain's version the best, but others are ok too. Something about the milky sweetness makes it seem ok - more like a creamy caffinated beverage then "coffee"

Well, coconut is my favorite flavor for coffee (though I haven't tried Dunkin's yet), and The Hubby LOVES the strawberry shortcake flavor.

I need to get to Target to stock up!
