Anyone been to Shake Shack yet?
So is it worth the hype? From the pictures, the fries look like the frozen variety? Best as I can tell, burgers look very small? Best burger I have had in recent memory, J M Curley's.
I've been to the one in Midtown a few times, expect the Chestnut Hill one to be essentially identical. The basic single is $4.75; there's only so far you can go with that. It's a high-quality fast food burger, more like In-N-Out or Tasty Burger than jm Curley's. I don't care for the crinkle-cut fries. Excellent concretes, Chicago-style dog, and beer. None of it worth an hour-plus wait for.
But the famed Danny Meyer hospitality should be there. Shake Shack is the only fast-food joint I've ever been in where a staffer came by and asked me how everything was.
I'll try it sometime soon, maybe midweek so the crowd is smaller. In the meantime, I'm almost ready to delete the Eater Boston feed from Google Reader - they've already dedicated 5-6 posts to SS: "SS open tomorrow!" "SS open soon!" "SS open now!" "No riots yet at SS!" Please, give it a rest.
I frequent the one on E. 86th St and really like the burgers but I probably wont drive out to Chestnut Hill
