I'm returning for a visit "home" to Manhattan (moved out a year and a half ago) and am hoping to meet up with some friends on the UES at happy hour time, someplace subway-proximal, not too loud or too pricey (i.e. beers ~$10 or maybe less) and no reservations needed. Good food is a plus (tapas style would be ideal), but no particular genre necessary. Bar food, ethnic, all ok! Arrival time would probably be 7-ish. Given the rapid turnover in Manhattan restaurants, I fear I am now out of touch with what's around. Can anyone help a ex-NY-er out?
