Unique and Fun

  • 2

Looking for recommendations for a unique and fun restaurant in Manhattan to take a visiting friend who has been here many times. I’d like to find something that is unique. I've taken her to Spice Market, Tao, Eataly... Something where the space is interesting or the food is presented differently or there’s unusual entertainment or a fun (but not touristy) theme, etc.

  1. When is the friend visiting?

What cuisines does she enjoy? Where is she visiting from?

What is your budget, per person, before tax, tip, wine/drinks?

Your request for something unique, fun (fun as in fun food or fun atmosphere?), different is still kind of vague.

Were you thinking WD-50? Atera? Momofuku Ko? Or the tasting menu at EMP? Or something like Shopsin's? Mission Chinese?

    Other ideas:
the personalized Kappo chef's counter at Ma Peche
NY history based tasting menu at Torrisi Italian Specialities
    grilled organ meat at Takashi
the kaiseki menu in the tatami room at Kyo Ya

    1. Try Salvation Taco. The food is excellent and it's got a nice young fun vibe.
