Yamada Chikara

foodiebuddha Mar 19, 2013 10:11 AM

I've seen a few mentions of Yamada on here, but nothing in depth. From what I can tell, they are open until midnight. If I am correct in that, do they require reservations? Will they seat just one?

I am hoping to fit it in either after my meal at Koju (res at 18:30), after DEN (res at 18:00) or perhaps before Ryugin (res at 21:30). Does that sound doable?

You must be a really big eater. I don't think there is any way I could fit in 2 large kaiseki meals in such a short time period.

It's a massive, massive meal. I ate there for 4 hours. I was very impressed by the quantity, the quality - less so. Overrated, wouldn't go back. I am pretty sure they do accept solo diners.

the chef even asked me at the end how hungry i was feeling and sized the soba course appropriately. my friend made the mistake of saying he was still hungry and got a MASSIVE bowl of soba
