Macaron Day 2013

I am looking forward to a day of macaron tasting on Wednesday for the annual "Macaron Day." Has anyone participated in the past? Are lines long? Any tips? Places I should not miss on the list? I am coming from PA and will luckily have a very patient husband to drive me around to the Manhattan locations. Many thanks!

La Maison du macaron on 23rd street makes the best macarons in nyc in my opinion. Their flavors are amazing and love the texture. I personally love them more than macarons from Laduree.
I honestly don't like macarons from most of the participants on this list.

I really like the Macaron Parlour. Never got them from Maison du Chocolat. Laduree's macarons can be good, but they're inconsistent. I got a raspberry macaron there one time that was so dry and brittle it crumbled in my hands. Dominique Ansel Bakery makes good macarons too.

The best I've had in the city (La Maison du Chocolat, Laduree) don't seem to be on that list.
