The Alchemist: Mixology + Thai in SOMA [San Francisco]

The Alchemist has officially opened, and it's been making the rounds on all the SF social scene sites. As a big fan of Kinson Lau, former manager at Gitane, I've had the chance to drop by 2 times now. It was a lot of fun both times, and fans of the Bourbon & Branch empire, The Burritt Room, Big, etc. should put this on their short list.
The menu has something for everyone. Here's the short version:
Planning on having more than one? Start with a non-intimidating Bees Knees or fizzy Somethin' With Vodkah.
Mezcal lovers--try the smoky Campfire Fizz
Truly adventurous drinkers--get the Stop Fenneling me. It's clean, bright, and almost savory. A surprising flavor, and very refreshing
There are beers on tap, and sommelier-selected wines. The bar menu is short, sweet, and delivered by Root Thai Restaurant next door. Get some tater tots to soak up the alcohol, they're some of the best in town. Play some shuffleboard, enjoy the movies projected onto the wall, and kick back. This is the kind of bar where you'll want to spend all night.
