Lay's Sriracha potato chips

Epic fail.

While I love salt and vinegar chips these taste like those but bated in knock-off Tobasco sauce. Disgusting.

The chicken n waffles seems to have promise.

I tried the sriracha ones, that's as far as it went.

If I got the idea of Sriracha chips in my head (which I sometimes do), I would squirt Sriracha on Cape Cod 40% reduced fat chips. Mmmmmmm. My wife prefers Cholula.

When I think of Sriracha-flavored potato chips I think of Zapp's Voodoo chips which are spicy w/ a little vinegar zing. They are hands down the best chip ever... IMHO. ;-)

They were giving out free samples of the three new flavors of Lay's chips at the store a couple of weeks ago. They were keeping a tally of customer opinions and the fried chicken and waffles with syrup version was leading the vote by far as the worst with Sriracha voted a bit better and the least of the 3 evils were the garlic bread flavored chips.

I thought they were all equally dreadful and something I would never purchase.

I bought a bag of chicken and waffle for the family, I don't eat chips. Half the bag was thrown out after sitting in the pantry for a couple weeks. My 20 yr old loves chips of any kind and I these were a big no.

Found a bag of the Siracha at Safeway a couple of weeks ago, they didn't have the other flavors. It was not bad, just a mildly flavored chip (very mildly spicy).

My personal preference is for plain, salted, kettle chips, so I don't really care for Lay's anyway.

If you want a spicy chip head to the Indian grocery for imports or look for Zapp's from New Orleans.
