Well, there are no deli cases so I guess it's more of a cafe. Was told yes we're a chain, the other one is in Carmel in the tri-level shopping plaza on Ocean St.

Ordered the "Rudy Giuliani", half pastrami and half corned beef on nice thick cut rye, with swiss and Russian dressing. It was supposed to have slaw on it but they were out so I requested sauerkraut. Pretty good sandwich all in all, meat had a slight smoky note, but thought it rather pricey at 10.95. It came with two small scoops of decent potato salad and half a dill so it could be split between two people with smaller appetites, of course I ate the whole thing. Seem to recall the regular reuben, pastrami, or corned beef being @8.00 or 6.50 for a half. Saw an order of their French Toast delivered that got oohs and ahhs, believe someone called it bread pudding.

Service was a little strange, seemed like the cook was making one order at a time.

Wondering if any hounds have tried the Carmel location and have any comments. I'd be especially interested in hearing if anyone has tried Langer's in LA and how Lenny's stacks up against them.

Thanks Polar Bear for your review, I was wondering if you had a favorite place for a pastrami sandwich in Fresno. My husband loves pastrami, but we have not been able to find a hot pastrami sandwich like he used to get in SLO. As I recall, the place he liked would lightly pan sear the pastrami before putting it on a warmed roll with mustard and pickles. Does this sound like anything anyone else has had?

I can't recall if they have pastrami on the menu, but Sierra Nut House in Riverpark has absolutely wonderful grilled panini sandwiches. They are fairly good sized and come with a side salad so BF and I will split one unless we are starved.

My son and I ate at the one in Carmel about 2 years ago, IIRC. The food was OK, nothing to write home about. We sat on the patio and service was exceptionally....slow. Painfully slow. Lenny himself and one busboy did all the table service. We didn't feel like going anywhere else, and really wanted a casual meal. Well, we got it. I don't think I'd go there again. I'd get take-out instead.
