That double box next to the Replies # ??

What does it mean? Maybe I'm dense, but it's not obvious to me.....

  1. Click to Upload a photo (10 MB limit)
  1. Photos are part of the thread I think.

    1. Yes. It means someone has posted photos.

Just curious as to why I would want to know that. Maybe if the topic name is one for which I'm really interested in a visual, but I'm not likely to conclude that without getting into the topic anyway................ where I can see the photos.

Any clue on the thinking here? Seems like a coding effort for little benefit. No biggee, just wondering.

If the post was about a restaurant I was interested in, I would possibly be interested in photos. If it was about a dish that someone made, I would possibly be interested in how theirs turned out compared to mine. If there is a post about a kitchen remodeling project, I would possibly be interested in looking at a photo of the project. A rather common design convention that perhaps is not a benefit to everyone .

One (remote) possibility: If my internet connection were really slow, I might avoid threads with pictures because they take longer to load.

        2. OK, so I just went to a topic that had that double box next to it in the board listing:

I first scrolled down all the closed posts to see if there would be an indication of which one had pictures. I'd read the topic before so closed posts it was. Nope. Then I opened all the replies and repeated the scroll. Still didn't see any pictures.

The topic replies included some with links to other topics. Is the photo indicator picking up pics that could be in THOSE topics?? Otherwise I'm not sure why the indicator, unless I just missed something.

Unless a reply that had pic's was taken down for some reason or another but the symbol doesn't go with it?

If you really want to test my theory maybe the P's-that-B (unless they already know and want to weigh in on this sub-thread?) would be okay with you setting up a thread here on Site and trying out the idea?

              2. re: Servorg

This should be fixed now. There was a photo in a post that had been deleted, which is why the symbol was showing up even when it shouldn't have. But now it's not. Thanks for pointing this out,
