This is a long shot but has anyone ever seen cassareep with a hechsher? I am interested in making guyanese pepper pot and am told it isn't without cassareep.
A quick search on kalustyans website suggests that there are 2 brands of cassareep (brown betty and blue mountain) that are made in Jamaica. I don't know if they are kosher, but perhaps you could call the store and ask? They tend to have a lot of kosher products, some with less reliable hectchers though.
