Brewing beer, curing meat, or making cheese? Get great advice

Blacktree, Quatrefoil, Ancaster Mill, Langdon Hall

My husband and my 5 year anniversary is coming up and we were thinking of trying one of the big names outside of Toronto. The options we are considering are either Ancaster Mill, Quatrefoil, Black Tree or Langdon Hall. I love food that excites me, creative in taste and presentation!! Please let me know which of these you would recommend for a fun dining experience which keeps the "oohs" and "aahhhhs" coming.

If you think that none of these are worth the drive feel free to recommend something in the city.
Any help will be most appreciated!!!

I did not totally enjoy my birthday dinner there last year! Thought it was over-rated!
Quatrefoil, on the other hand offered a very enjoyable 'tasting menu'
Black Tree was fun and good but no tasting menu was offered.
Agree 'Treadwell' sholud be added for consideration.
    Haven't been to Ancaster Mill.

Thank you for your in sight! I will definitely add Treadwell on the list! I was wondering how shoto compares to these restaurants and whether we should just go there instead since we haven't been yet.

I like the Ancaster Mill but I think it lacks the ooh/ahh factor

      I would go with Blacktree

or add Treadwell to the list

I like Quatrefoiil for local, quality ingredients steak is great there. Blacktree for something a little different - often slightly more unusual proteins, eg game, uni. Also very high quality ingredients. If you call ahead, I would think that they can put together a tasting menu for you.
