La Petite Dauphine is closed

Or so the inky says: http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/th...

Not surprised. There were a couple decent items on the menu (the chicken salad sandwich, the caesar salad), but most of the food sucked. The desserts were uniformly horrid. And the service was always a mess. No big loss.

I would have gone for dessert if they were open past 6pm. Also there was a report on this board of them not honoring their posted opening time (and being rude about it).

I would go in there now and then to get macarons to take out. One time I went there I distinctly remember there was this guy in a white shirt who was sweating profusely running around trying to serve people and another guy who was, for lack of a better word, creepy. Maybe with a better trained staff and better hours they would have lasted longer. It's kind of a shame that a lot of the "dessert destinations" in that part of town (I'm thinking Naked Chocolate and Yann) seem to go under. I suspect Magpie won't though based upon how busy they seem when I go there.

Not surprised by this report, as I have visited at three different times this year during supposed business hours and found them to be closed each time. My last try was almost a month ago.
