Tuna Sandwich at Dudley’s in Oldtown Salinas

Dudley’s in Oldtown Salinas promotes its American food menu and proclaims the best burger in town.

The cheeseburger came with fresh garnishes. The mushy bun was not toasted. While the burger was cooked medium-rare as ordered and had a nice sear, the beef itself lacked richness. Battered-style fries were decent.

Much more pleasing was Mom’s tuna sandwich. Ordered on toasted whole wheat, it’s piled high with lightly seasoned tuna and just enough mayonnaise to bind it together. With crunchy whole leaf iceberg lettuce and a salad on the side, this was worth writing about.

I have not tried it, but a co worker has and she said food was fresh and very good. I am not always near the East Side after six, but with the change of time I too am going to give it a try. Like I said, I saw it across from Mi Pueblo, but will check with my co worker.I noticed the truck because of the big yummy hamburger painted on the side. Always looking for a great burger!

      Melanie,
Have you tried the food truck El Vulcon. They specialize in hamburbers. They park accross from Mi Pueblo on East Alisal and open at 6?

El Vulcon? No. If you've tried it, please do tell!

Now that it's daylight savings time, I'll be making more of an effort to check out what's new on the streets. There's another truck, a daytime one, I spotted that was unfamiliar to me too.
