Irish Soda Bread?

Anyone know where I can find this? I noticed that they have it at Regina's Bakery off of Prospect Park West, but I would love some other options... Is Runner & Stone offering it? Anyone know? Am definitely willing to travel from my Kensington neighborhood for a delicious rendition of this. Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions!

  1. the best i've had lately has been at V & V bakery on roosevelt avenue in woodside -- right under the LIRR trestle.

i don't think it's life changing enough to merit an inter-borough trek, but it is mighty good. dense, just the tiniest smidgen of sweet. maybe if you have a visitor from out in these parts, they could be convinced to haul one over!

    1. I like my Irish soda bread to be rustic-looking, and in all honesty, it might as well be four huge scones all smooshed together. Ingredients like buttermilk, raisins, and caraway seeds should all be present. Happy St Pat's.

      1. I am going to answer my own post... what the heck. as it turned out, they did indeed have Irish soda bread @ Runner & Stone. The made it in large muffin form which I appreciated since I only wanted enough for a small dinner. It was pretty good, with lots of golden raisins, though not quite as world changing as their almond croissant.
