Jupiter, FL & Surrounding Areas Special Restaurants

amanda3571 Mar 13, 2013 08:14 PM

Hi hounds,
Been a while since I've been on - last time I was here there were 2 FL boards...?
Anyhow, I'm sorry if I'm coming up as a redundant request but I am not from the area. I am looking for a very special place to send my parents as a thank you gift. They've been amazingly supportive to my husband and I, and we'd like to show them just a small token of our appreciation. Something top notch. I've been to the local really "good-great" restos, but I'd love to give them a gift of something new, different & memorable. Any recs are much appreciated. Thanks much in advance.

    I really enjoyed my visit to Little Moir's. It was 3 years ago so it could have changed since then. I still believe it was some of the best seafood I've had in Florida.

        You will get a better response if you post on the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale Board which runs from Miami to Jupiter.

        Little Moir's is an excellent choice as is Leftovers (same owner).

          My two favs...

          Coolinary Café
          ==> http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/843697

          Leftover's (ignore terrible name
          )==> http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/825669

          Now keep in mind, neither of these are "fancy" at all. So if this is a very special dinner these could be off the mark. The food will be terrific but the atmosphere may be remembered as super-casual. And if your parents are very "old-school" it may be disappointing a bit in that respect.

          However if they are most interested in the food, and enjoy a fun, energetic, inviting scene, then do proceed.

          For more upscale, consider in Palm Beach, Buccan and Café Boulud.

            Thank you so much for the PB recs, exactly what I was looking for! I know Jupiter restos, while good, are a little more casual and not what I had in mind. Thanks again, and thanks to all who replied!

            Cafe Boulud in The Brazilian Court Hotel, Palm Beach.
            Top notch food and service with prices to match, but if you really want to "reward" this would be my choice.
            If they are beefeaters, The Flagler Steakhouse (part of The Breakers) is a wonderful choice for the same reasons as discussed above.

              Agree about Boulud. I wouldn't over look the restaurant at the Ritz-Carlton. Sort of a upscale steakhouse but we were very, very impressed a few months ago. Renato's (Italian) was pretty good, too.
