Drinks near Fiola

Hi all,
We are coming to DC this weekend for a little "get away" and have a 9:15 PM reservation at Fiola. Looking for some creative/craft cocktails nearby either the restaurant or our hotel, the Willard. Figure we will hit the scotch bar in the hotel at some point. Any other suggestions greatly appreciated.

You won't go wrong either in your hotel or at your restaurant. I'm a particular fan of Fiola's bar -- excellent Italian cocktails (e.g. Standard Negroni and Aranciata/Orange Negroni) along with good versions of more conventional cocktails. The high bench seating between the bar and the restaurant area is particularly comfortable.

I actually like the cocktails at Fiola and usually just sit at the bar for drinks and a quick bite with the wife.

You could check out Jose Andres' new place Barmini where you can get a reservation online. The other place with creative cocktails is Jaleo. I like how they us an assortment of different tonics based on the drink.

There's also The Passenger but that's a good 15 minute walk north of Fiola.

I wouldn't call them craft cocktails but the rooftop of the W is a really nice place to grab a drink since the view is amazing. The later in the night (especially on the weekends) it can get a little sceaney, so maybe get there on the earlier side.

The bartender at Fiola, Jeff Faile, is stupendous. There isn't a need to go elsewhere before dinner.

Thank you everyone! We enjoyed all the drinks we tried (naturally) but Fiola's were the best, followed by the Occidental Grill. We did hit POV for the views but the drinks there were just OK. Round Robin bar in the Willard had an adequate scotch collection and a generous pour. Also, couldn't beat the location (we were staying there...)

FYI,Jeff Faile said a drink recipe book is coming soon.
