Dinner in Dillon, SC

xnumberoneson Mar 12, 2013 09:20 AM

We're making the long drive from PA to Orlando this weekend and will be spending the night in Dillon, SC. Looking for a good mom and pop-type local joint for dinner. It doesn't have to be a paticular type of cuisine as long as it fits the criteria of being local and family-friendly. There seems to be a paucity of information on local dining other than South of the Border.

I'm sorry I can't really help, but I suspect the main reason you're finding a paucity of information is that Dillon is a very smalll place with a paucity of restaurants, unfortunately. Your best bet is probably going to ask for a rec at your hotel.

If I were you, I'd stop a little short of Dillon for dinner. Lumberton, NC is home to Fuller's Old Fashion BBQ. While not my favorite bbq they do have a pretty hefty buffet...complete with stewed chitterlings (LoL...but really).

I don't remember eating in Dillon...even though we drive through there on a regular basis.

+1 always try to stop at Fuller's either coming or going from Florida. The BBQ is perfectly acceptable, and the selection is great local food, very family friendly.

Unless you're looking to elope, Dillon would be low on my places to stop between PA and Orlando. Are you flexible with the midway destination?

Hey, they have good fireworks too.

I once had a hotdog at South of the Border, and didn't die. So that's always an option...
