Vancouver Tibet Kitchen - closed

LotusRapper Mar 11, 2013 07:49 PM

Replaced by a new Chinese hand-pulled noodle resto called Yu Xiang. They were still closed when I walked by. Dunno know if this new resto has begun yet.

Just noticed a new place is set to open in the former Flyng Tiger/ Left Coast Bistro space at 2958 West 4th. Can't recall the name but it sounded like it would be Nepalese/Himilayan food.

So hoping to get a worthwhile restaurant in that space. The turnover has been seemingly constant, with nothing inspiring. High rent and low traffic, I suppose.

Groupon for Yak & Yeti if anyone's interested: http://www.groupon.com/deals/yak-yeti-bistro?p=1&utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&sid=f2736617-5fda-4454-a50c-44d932b5cab7&division=vancouver&user=a6c98fd6988aca3e21282cff629fc12eadc42c0f57a2a1896f926f9cc1ee7c4e&date=20131130&s=body&c=deal_button&d=deal-page&utm_campaign=yak-yeti-bistro

I might get it and trundle over there since it's hard by the homestead. Everyone should have a yak momo before they die, right? Though I'm not thrilled by the lack of a functioning website or online menu. facebook is not am adequate substitute for me. Strange that food style is listed as brunch yet they don't open till 4 pm. Perhaps I'll call and get more deets (604) 428-4422

Found these reviews of the new place, called Yu Xiang Yuan:

Apparently we missed the boat on their offer of free wives (or maybe just a single 'wife'):

To be dubbed "Sha Lin #2" makes them interesting, worthy of a TOFTT ? Menu prices are sure low.

Thx LotusRapper .. I was recently thinking about a plate of steaming momos. I'll have to head to the Himilayan kitchen on Davie st.
