Italian Rum Cake in Southern Connecticut

  • 3

I'm looking to pick up an old-fashioned Italian rum cake for Easter. We tried the cake from Lucibello's a few years ago. It was good but not great - not as good as the ones I bought years ago at Mike's Pastry in Boston's North End.

Is Lucibello's my best bet, or have you had better?

  1. Modern Pastry on Franklin Ave. in Hartford makes a great one. If Old Saybrook is closer to you, you can order one at Pasta Vita.

Bingo - Modern Pastry is #1 and will be well worth the trip.

    2. If you are near the Bridgeport area go to Del Prete on Main St. You have to order ahead of time.
