We're talking about just removing the whole feature for now since there isn't a need for it at the moment and it's gradually broken as we've changed other things around it. It was intended for when we did the big move of threads to new boards, rather than for one-off moves. If you need something moved, please just flag it for the moderators.

I reported same to the mods when my use of the contributor button moved a thread to the wrong board and needed undoing. I didn't get a reply at the time (none was expected).

When the feast of new reorganized boards came along a while ago, some of us volunteered to move misplaced threads,
such as the Seattle one in the PNW board, for instance.
It always used to work.

There've been a couple of instances where we've asked for users help with things -- keeping up certain elements of the Restaurant database, and moving threads to new boards -- and the users who've volunteered to help have been marked as 'contributors' on their profiles to give them access to those features.
