Looking for traditional Southern cooking in a restaurant in LA

I am looking for a restaurant that serves either traditional Southern food or low country cooking in the greater LA area. Willing to travel quite far. Haven't been able to find such a thing. Looking for dishes such as fried okra, shrimp and grits, crab boil, fried catfish, cornbread or spoonbread, fried shrimp...she-crab soup, pilau, etc. Looking for authentic food, rather than New American interpretations of these dishes.

I hope linking an img won't get me in trouble:

Fried okra in the back of the jambalaya on dirty rice. They do ALL kinds of fried fish, chicken and waffles, I've seen candied yams, black eyed peas, grits, all kinds chops,

    Everything from scratch.

And here are some photos of GAC TV visiting R&J to shoot a video of Julie's chicken and dumplings:

Yes, chicken and dumplings. I'm super gung-ho on this place, which is a far better diner than Aunt Rosa's, Chef Marilyn's, etc.

Which restaurants have you been to that haven't measured up to what you are looking for? That will save others here from spinning their wheels and coming up with places you already know about and which fell short of your expectations.

It looks as if our OP has decamped. How about http://berthasoulfood.com/ ? I haven't been lately so wonder if it is still good? Any hounds been in the last few months?
