Allez Hatian Cuisine (Tampa)

Driving down Fletcher the other day I noticed Allez Haitian Cuisine. Apparently, they are just celebrating six months in business. For lunch yesterday, I had fried goat which came with rice and beans and plantains. The food was excellent. Everything was full of flavor and spices. I don't know why but a lot of the Caribbean food in Tampa seems Americanized with sweet sauces and mild heat. This was just the opposite. It reminds me of Rana Kebab where each dish is prepared individually and with a lot of care. It was so good that I went back for lunch today. This time around I had stewed goat and fried chicken. Again, I very much enjoyed both dishes. The stewed goat was just as good if not better than the fried goat. I loved the fried goat but it was nice to have the sauce to pour over the rice. I will be going back regularly until I make it through the whole menu. I am particularly excited to try the snapper and the oxtails. There are some weekend specials that are also going to need my attention.

    That's across from Frank-El.

Next time we're up at the VA, we'll stop by and check the place out.
