March in Incline Village/North Tahoe

My wife and I are making our first trip to Lake Tahoe the week of March 18th. I've seen some references to good North Tahoe restaurants but only one, Bite, seems to be in or near Incline Village. Any good choices for winter dining nearby a) for a special dinner and b) for a more normal, high quality but not break the bank dinner? I don't have a good feel for the landscape so maybe some of the places listed over on the West Shore or in Truckee are within reasonable dinner distance? Thanks.

The Westshore Cafe and the Swiss Lakewood in the northshore Homewood area are worth looking into. And there is always the venerable Sunnyside.

I'd also consider Garwood's Grill in Carnelian Bay.

Bite is a great restaurant for casual. Yoshimi has excellent sushi. I would recommend either Big Water Grille, which is contemporary American, or Le Bistro for your special dinner. Le Bistro is contemporary French with a wonderful prix fixe multi course menu. I love both places and they are in Incline. Homewood is a haul. Truckee isn't so bad but there are better choices closer to Incline. If you really want to break the bank try Manzanita at the Ritz. Better make that 2 banks! A couple other casual choices not too far are Spindleshanks in Tahoe Vista and Caliente for upscale Mexican in Tahoe City.
