Any unique restaurants or food specialty shops between Dallas and Texarkana?

I am heading, once again, to visit my Dad in Texarkana in a few weeks and I always wonder if there are places along that I30 route that I should be checking out! Like in Greenville, Sulphur Springs, Mount Pleasant, or Texarkana itself? Any thoughts? Thanks!

Nothing jumps to mind, although I don't travel that way frequently. Once in Texarkana, howver, I have a couple of tips for you. First, one of the best cafeterias in Texas (yes, that's a limited category) is in Texarkana. But it really is very good food. Bryce's is right on I-30 at the Summerhill Road exit. Family owned -- this is the only location. Been in Texarkana for many years, although this is the second location. The best cafeteria I've ever eaten in and quite good food even by non-cafeteria standards. Best bets are traditional Souther staples and veggies. Also the beef stew and corned beef and cabbage are quite good. Desserts are also excellent.

Also good in Texarkana is the Dixie Diner. It used to be on State line, but it moved over to the Texas side a year or two ago. Again, a home cooking type place, but not cafeteria style. Cooked after you order it. Chicken fried steak is excellent; very good pot roast; fried cod is surprisingly good; etc. Don't know of anything they serve that isn't good. Excellent cornbread, too. Something that's surprisingly hard to find, these days.
